Apparently Disney World is reopening this weekend and just in time for new high COVID spikes in Florida! Awesome!
SOURCE – The state reported 11,433 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, its biggest daily increase since July 3, when 11,458 cases were recorded. Florida’s health department reported 435 more hospitalizations — the state’s largest single-day increase.
On Saturday, Florida reported an additional 421 new hospitalizations as well as 10,360 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of cases in the state to 254,511. The statewide COVID-19 death toll has surpassed 4,200.
Really hope Disney is able to make millions and millions of dollars at the cost of continuing the first wave of this pandemic. Look, I’m not going to be one of those self-righteous guys to get on a pedastool and chastize this global corporation for reopening way sooner than it should. All I’m going to say is this feels like the final nail in the coffin of any hope for a football season we wanted. People from all across the country will now fly down to Orlando, catch COVID, bring it home, and we’ll be right back where we started back in March – with sports shutting down. It’s kinda depressing to think about.
But hey, at least people can now ride Space Mountain!
We always joke about Florida Man, but honestly, it’s kinda sad to learn Mickey Mouse is one.
